Legislative Priorities

  • Helping to fund housing-first projects with supportive services will be my priority. I propose realistic, sustainable and holistic approaches to bring change to this population. I will provide new and innovative ways to support the organizations currently in place, while providing the collaboration and financial resources necessary from the State. I realize this is an extremely complex problem that intersects with mental health issues, substance use disorder and lack of resources to serve these populations. We must support those in need, not criminalize them.

  • The Kitsap County Health Care system is sorely lacking providers, especially secular care. I will continue to support access to women’s reproductive rights, gender affirming care, and mental health through a public hospital district. In order to increase access to care, we must provide means to recruit and maintain staffing at all levels of care. This can be done at the State level by increasing Medicaid and commercial insurance reimbursement rates. People need and deserve equitable health care.

  • Our children are our future. They deserve the best education possible, regardless of their socio-economic level. I will advocate for early childhood education that will ensure a strong foundation for an education experience that will lift and support all children of diverse needs and backgrounds. The goal is to create successful citizens who can serve the greater common good.
